THIS IS A CRAZY STORY BUT I NEED EVERY ONE'S OPINION?

I have been seeing this guy for ten years, he was always telling me that he was saving money for us to get marry, well i was like ok about it because i'm a single mother with two kids, so i didn't want to put to much pressure and to push him away. but then i had a feeling that something was just not right, therefore i started spying on him and OMG! he was cheating on me. i called him Right away and he answer my call i asked him were are you, and he said at work and i told him you pc of S*** I know what the hell you're doing. he came out apologized. i told him that i was OUT! two weeks ped and he called and tex, but i never answer.. then he came to my house and i told him what the hell do you want? and he said if i ever meant anything to you give me 5 minutes of your life that's all i'm asking for, so i told him ok but you're no longer welcome at my house. so he told me just go to the park and i said i will be there in 10min... at the park he apologize again and said that he realize how much i meant to him and got down on his knee and proposed to me. i was speechless.. i said yes, but did i do the right thing???
