Tool for text comparison?

Iam having to compare two large-sized programs line-by-line of code to find out if they are the same. I remember having used a freeware where I can load the two programs such that they show up side-by-side in text areas and any unmatching character/line will be highlighted. Can someone please name that/similar tool and provide a link too, where I can download from.
