Catholics: Who is correct my Parish Priest, or my Parish Deacon?
My catechism doesn't have anything about limbo in it, but it does contain information about purgatory, which is based on the Jewish concept of Geheddah and is referenced in the bible. (Mine is a first edition Canadian English translation). Limbo is a non-biblical concept which was mainly more of an aspect of folk religion. So I'm wondering if one or the other accidentally used the wrong term. I've never heard of the Bosom of Abraham, so it might be that they aren't using consistent language between them. I hope this helps.
