Please please recommend some books...?

I love scifi/fantasy and would like a recommendation on a good SERIES. I love The Song of Fire and Ice by George RR Martin and Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I like The Inheritance by Christopher Paolini. I did not like The Chronicals of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever. If you could please give me a brief summary also I would be so appreciative! Thanks!
