Ive decided to have a finger chopped off in the hope of playing AFL one day. is this a good decision?
im 17 years old and my finger has been continuously breaking and dislocating for the past two years. ive tried everything - glove, taping, surgery etc but it has never been right. i am desperate to continue my footy career and i hold high hopes of being drafted at the end of next year. my doctor told me that i would have to give up footy unless i take action, so i have decided after much consideration that im having my left-ring finger amputated at the first joint. is this a good decision? bearing in mind its what i want and it could lead to a career in the AFL.
