Creationists: If dinosaurs and humans coexsisted, why didn't humans die in the asteroid strike?

The flaw is that no scientific proof exists for an asteroid strike that wiped out all living things. It's nothing more than a theory. Even so, there could have been areas of the earth where survival could have been achieved; probably near the equator where the sun is closest to the earth.
